Leith Athletic have signed on William Walker, late of Liverpool. Other League Clubs were after Walker, but the price asked by Liverpool, £100, proved prohibitive. Leith have paid nothing for his transfer. Should Liverpool report the matter an interesting case will come before the International Board. (Evening Telegraph, 25-08-1898)
