For some time past Sheffield United have been in negotiation with Liverpool in regard to the transfer of Frank Becton, the well-known forward of the latter club. Originally Liverpool asked £300, but the Sheffielders declined to give so much. Last evening, however, the clubs came to an agreement, and the transfer form was signed. Becton will be eligible to lay for Sheffield United against Newcastle on Saturday next. It is supposed that the sum paid for his transfer was something approaching £200.
