No club has had such a harvest during the holidays as Liverpool. It may truly be said that prospectively their Christmas and New Year programme did not promise much, because recently the team had not been overburdened with success. But what are the results so far?
Why, not one of the undertakings away from Anfield-road has ended in disaster. On the contrary, seven points out of eight have been secured, and eight goals to two registered. Magnificent is the correct term to apply to such form as that, and if it can be kept up – and why not?
Liverpool may come desperately near the honours of championship. Some of the worst stiles have been got over, and hope looms largely on the horizon.
