The day before the big day for Liverpool


Friday, April 28 – 1899
The Liverpool football team are to-day reported in splendid condition for the match to-morrow, and confident of success. They have been training at St. Anne’s-on-Sea, and left there this afternoon for Birmingham. The team as finally selected is as follows: Goal, Bill Perkins; backs, Archie Goldie and Billy Dunlop; half backs, Rab Howell, Charlie Wilson, Alex Raisbeck; right wing, John Cox and John Walker; centre, George Allan, left wing, Tom Robertson and Hugh Morgan. Several excursions are being run from Liverpool. (Manchester Evening News, 28-04-1899)
