It is announced that Mr. Tom Watson, manager of the Liverpool F.C. , has succeeded in completing the transfer of a new Scottish player in the person John Hunter, of Beith. Hunter is only 19 years of age but is said to give promise of proving an even finer centre half than Alex Raisbeck. He is spoken of as one of the likeliest men who has left Scotland for some time. His nominal terms are £3 per week winter and summer; but this transfer has cost the Liverpudlians a good deal. Mr. Watson who has been in Scotland all through the week, is reported to have yet other men in view, the club not being satisfied with the way in which one or two of their latest comers have been playing. A big centre-forward has been specially sought, and a big offer is said to have been made for Andy McGuigan, of the Edinburgh Hibernians, but without effect.
