The new centre-forward from the South that Mr Tom Watson was anxious to secure turns out to be R. Evans, who has been playing a very clever game for Ilford this season. The Ilford man, however, is not taking any, and the Southern press appeared to be shocked at the idea of an old public schoolboy being “approached” by a professional manager. Ilford are also sadly perturbed, and rumour has it that the Liverpool F.C. is to be arraigned before the F.A. authorities.
