Goddard, who has gone from Stockport County to Glossop, for whom he made his debut last week against the League leaders, appears to have in him the makings of a specially useful right extreme.
Discovered by the North Derbyshire club on the occasion of their cup encounters with the County, Goddard started his First League career under circumstances scarcely of an auspicious character, seeing that he was directly opposed to Ernest Needham.
Yet it is generally agreed that he shone with something like refulgence, making the run and centre which produced goal No. 1 to his side, and also getting a brilliant single-handed equaliser on the post.
