The Montrose team have lost one of their best players in Alf Ferrier, who has gone over to the professional ranks. He has been engaged by the Liverpool Club, and there is no doubt but that he will still maintain and doubtless improve his play during his connection with his new club. (Dundee Courier, 13-04-1900)
