Saturday, October 27 – 1900

The vociferous cheering which from 1884 to 1892 used to ring along Anfield-road in joyous proclamation of Evertonians victories had not been long hushed before Mr. Alderman John Houlding, as genial a gentleman as one could hope to meet, gathered around him a few enthusiasts, including Mr. Ramsay, and a club was formed bearing the name of Liverpool.
