At the Liverpool Assizes on Monday it was reported to Mr. Justice Wills that the prisoner, George Moir, who was sentenced to fourteen days and twenty strokes of the cat, for throwing pepper in the face of a young lady and stealing her purse, was not physically a proper subject to be flogged, and his lordship altered the sentence to eighteen months’ imprisonment.
