The council of the Football Association has issued the following instructions with regard to the revised penalty kick rule: – The penalty kick can only be awarded for the following seven offenses committed by a player of the defending side within twelve yards on his own goal line: 1) intentionally tripping an opponent; 2) intentionally charging an opponent from behind; 3) intentionally pushing an opponent; 4) intentionally kicking an opponent; 5) intentionally jumping at an opponent; 6) intentionally holding an opponent, 7) willfully handling the ball.
If in the opinion of the referee the tripping or handling of the ball within the twelve yard line be not intentional there is no breach of the law.
