There was a fair attendance at Liverpool Football Grounds on Saturday, when Alec Nelson, of London (half-mile champion), and John Cox (left winger of the Liverpool Club) ran 300 yards on level terms for £50.
Cox has done little on the path, but is reckoned one of the fastest Association players in the country. Nelson, on the other hand, defeated G.B Tincler for the half-mile championship a short time ago. Betting was 6 to 4 on Cox, who won easily by seven yards.
