Personalia: Arthur Goddard

September 30, 1905
The outside right of Liverpool for two seasons has been somewhat disappointing. On Saturday, however, he came right back to his best form, and it is to be hoped that he will go on right through improving week by week. To my mind Arthur Goddard is one of the most gratifying forwards who ever played. He has a way of getting along the wing unsurpassed by any, while he can centre with most. His fatal tendency to drop the ball on top of the net. If this is corrected he will be the equal of the best. He was born in Stockport some twenty-five years ago, and stands 5ft. 9in. in height, while he scales about 12st. His clubs have been Stockport County and Glossop.
