According to the “New York Times,” the Metropolitan Association League has elected a committee to promote the Association game of football for American colleges and athletic clubs. The proposal has the patronage of Sir Mortimer Durand, the British Ambassador. Sir Ernest Cecil Cochrane, who leaves for England this morning, has offered a silver cup, valued at 100 guineas, for competition between the colleges.
