Mr. Fred Kirkham, the well-known referee, has been obliged to cancel his engagement in the Manchester City v. Liverpool match at Hyde-road today, in consequence of an accident he sustained yesterday while alighting from an electric car in Church-street, Preston. He fell, badly damaged his knees, and sprained his wrist.
