Alex Raisbeck, the Liverpool captain, will not make the journey to Newcastle. He has contracted a bad cold since training on Tuesday, and has been nursing himself in endeavours to get rid of it. This is indeed a serious matter to the club, although the deputy, George Latham, is a sound trier.
Let the Reds remember past performances at Newcastle. At the last gathering a draw of one goal each resulted, and this followed on a Newcastle defeat of 2-1, a Liverpool defeat of 1-0, two drawn games (each with the score 1 all), and a Liverpool defeat by 3-0.
United are acquainted now with their enclosure, which has been enlarged at a cost of £12,000, and covers five acres. The playing space has been increased in length and breadth, new terraces have been constructed on three sides, and on the south there has been erected a magnificent stand, similar to the one at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
