Norwich City surprised Liverpool completely. The latter expected a walk-over, but got bowled over instead. Norwich City were better in every department than their more famous rivals.
Charlie Craig was the most prominent man on the field, with Tommy Allsopp a good second. Percy Saul handled in the dreaded area, and Allsopp scored from the penalty.
In a ding-dong second half four goals were obtained. First John Cox equalised, and then James Tomlinson gave the visitors the lead. Robert Robinson again equalised, and almost on time John Smith scored the winning goal.
