Alex Raisbeck in exchange deal with Partick Thistle player?

May 10, 1909
Signing on continues as briskly as ever. Secretary Tom Watson, of Liverpool, is still hovering around the Glasgow district, and his latest captures are those of John Macdonald, the Rangers left winger, who, it will be remembered, went direct to Ibrox from Raith Rovers.

Smith’s consistency never permitted of Macdonald getting a thorough opportunity at outside left. Herbert Macpherson, of Partick Thistle, is to join Macdonald at Liverpool.

It is to be a kind of exchange of players between Liverpool and Partick, as Alex Raisbeck, the Scottish internationalist, who has been so long a prominent figure in Liverpool’s middle line, is as good as signed for Partick Thistle.
