Only one item of much importance cam before a meeting of the Lancashire Football Association at Preston last night, and that related to the transfer of player named Harry Read from Colne to Sunderland. Reed was transferred from Blackpool to Colne on the understanding that the latter club should not part with him without obtaining the permission of the former. This agreement was not carried out, and hence the appeal to the Lancashire FA, who after hearing the whole of the facts ordered Colne to pay to Blackpool half the fee received from Sunderland.
The next meeting of the Lancashire FA will be held at Lytham on Wednesday next, when an important recommendation to the Football Association will be discussed. It is to the effect that all disputes between Lancashire clubs, or clubs and players, shall be dealt with by the County Association instead of by the Football Association.
