Supporters of the Liverpool club, and, indeed, footballers generally, will be pleased to learn that James Scott, the half-back engaged by Liverpool from Ayrshire in August, is now convalescent, and will this week resume training.
It is not generally known that young Scott took seriously ill after playing against Tranmere Rovers on September 1st, and had to be taken to hospital. He has had a rather bad time, and I am pleased to learn that he has made a good recovery.
James Scott is a right half-back of undoubted ability, and was picked up by Mr. Watson at a Kilbirnie lakeside sports, the player giving an excellent account of himself in a five-a-side match. He is 20 years of age, stands 5ft. 9½in. in height, and weighs 11st.
He has a fine turn of speed, and is a splendid tackler. He played a really fine game against Tranmere Rovers, and his collapse afterwards came as a great surprise.
