Where’s our Maggie Cooper?

Saturday, November 18 – 1911

The Strand, London.

“Missie, dost knaw where Mar-garet Cooper is this week?”
“Margaret Cooper?” – The girl snapped out, “oh, she left here to go to Lyon’s three weeks agp. She useter wait on them two tables over there!”

At this juncture she was called away by one of the other Hebes, but shortly came back and fairly finished the open-mouthed Lancastrians with:
“The girl over there says Maggie’s left Lyon’s too, an’ is goin’ to marry a brewers traveller nex’ week!”
