The defeat of the Liverpool team at Birmingham was certainly expected, though not to the extent of five clear goals. One can only wonder at the selection of the directors in placing Robert Robinson at inside right, a position which has been lamentably weak all the season. The first choice for this post some years ago, Robinson was subsequently removed to right half-back, but wherever he has figured he has always exerted himself to the utmost for the benefit of his side.
No one, knowing the facts of the case, could ever sufficiently appreciate the action of Robinson when, although far from fit, he turned out at centre half-back against Everton last September and gave his best. But to re-introduce him to the forward line is a policy which to the lay mind admits of no support.
What is the matter with the reserve team forwards? Is there not one capable of being tried in the League eleven?
The club have an opportunity of improving their position in the League chart during December. From the present date to January 1 inclusive they have five League games to decide, four of which are at Anfield.
