Record receipts for Liverpool F.C.

Monday, October 21 – 1912
Liverpool broke their sequence of reverses by a rousing victory over the League Champions, and their re-constituted team shaped splendidly with one exception. Never in their history have the Liverpool team been so generously supported as has been the case this season. Prior to Saturday’s game with Blackburn Rovers the receipts at the home matches have realised close upon £4,000, and as there was a large attendance to witness the champions’ defeat the average was well maintained. Recognising this, the directors have determined to have a team worthy of such patronage, and they have been in touch with one well-known League player, but the negotiations at present are at a standstill.
