1838, September 23 – Baptised. Given the name “James Moreland Elliott”, son of James and Eliza Elliott. Father’s occupation being a “joiner.” – Abode: Leander-street.
1851 Census – Aged 12, living with his parents, James (aged 47) and Eliza (aged 39) Elliott, his siblings Anne (16), Samuel G (9), Agnes (3) and Henry H (2). Also in their household lived a lodger named Samuel Conway (65) and a servant, Margaret Ashton (16).
1881 Census – Living at 63 Plumpton Street, Everton. Aged 42, living with his wife Mary Ellen, and their children Samuel R (16), Agnes M (14), Henry Jas (12), Frederick W (10), Mary E (8) and Anne Gertrude (4). Also living at their property is 72 year old Margaret Kelly.
1886 – 1913, worked as groundsman at Anfield Football ground.
1911 Census – Aged 72, living with his wife, Mary Ellen Elliott, also aged 72, at 2 Elsie Road, Anfield. Also in the household lived Agnes Morland Elliott, aged 44, daughter of James and Mary Ellen, Annie Louzeau (titled sister, aged 43), and Nellie Elliott, aged 9 – granddaughter. The census also tell that James and Mary Ellen has been married for 47 years, they have had six children, whereas five are still alive.
1913, September 17 – Passed away in Liverpool.
