Liverpool’s home fixture is a capital one, and though Barnsley are not playing well now that is no criterion, for they were not playing well in League matches when they made their Cup triumphs.
We are anxious to know what their Cup “feeling” is now, and nothing can be told until we see them shaping at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool have played better football in the last six weeks than in September, October, and November, yet there were streaks of fine form in the black period, notably in the Burnley match.
We are all hoping that the team that won at Sunderland will keep up its form. Liverpool came first “out of the hat” in the Cup draw. One wonders is this to be “their” year.
They could do with it financially and otherwise.
