Blackburn Rovers having had the championship of the League made quite easy for them, the top fold race is now confined to which club will fill the second place. Villa thought they would, but without Hampton, and without confidence through defeats from Preston and Liverpool, I imagine the Villa will slip back again.
Bolton Wanderers are going strong for the bonus money for second place – it is £220, as compared to the winners’ sum of £275.
A number of correspondents have asked how much footballers can receive for success in the FA Cup. These are the amounts: –
First round – £2.
Second round – £3.
Third round – £5.
Fourth round – £5.
Semi-final – £5.
Final – £5.
