Following the example set by Johnny Houston the Everton forward who rejoined the Army, Jimmy Galt the captain of the Goodison club, has placed his services at the country’s disposal. He has joined the motor machine gun service and he expects to begin training shortly.
Football players are justly falling into line, and they are choosing the branches of the service which especially goals to them. Galt is just the sort of men to prove his mettle in the daring machine gun work. Whatever objection their might e to senior sports no one can object to the boys and youths of the country preparing for the future and training themselves to take the places of their big brothers who are fighting or preparing to fight for their native land.
