Sheffield Wednesday, who are competing in the Midland Section this season, should have a very good side, for the majority of last season’s first team are available, exceptions being Teddy Davison, who has enlisted, Jimmy Blair, David Parkes, Bob McSkimming, and David McLean, who are working outside the city.
To fill vacancies the club have had definite promises from Tommy Thorpe, the Northampton goalkeeper; Frank Womack, the Birmingham back; and Jim Harrop, Aston Villa’s centre half, all of whom are working in Sheffield.
