Massive interest for the club

On Saturday the attendance at Liverpool must have been over 17,000 strong. There were 2,000 soldiers ticketed by the turnstile, and the crush was such that one entrance had to be thrown open for the Tommies in order that they should not miss some of the first half of the game.
