On Monday afternoon the Chancellor of the Exchequer discussed the question of taxing amusements with Sir George Alexander, Mr. Gavazzi King (secretary of the Cinematograph Exhibitors’ Association), Mr. Alfred Barnard (editor of the “Era”), and gentlemen representative of football and the turf.
The “Era,” which to-day makes the announcement, adds that the proceedings were private.
