Honour for Kelty Lance-Corporal Jim Penman

Information has reached Mr. Jim Penman, Lindsay Cottages, Kelty, that his son, Lance-Corporal James Penman, has been awarded the Military Medal.

Lance-Corporal Penman was in the 7th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and went to France in December, 1914, but was afterwards transferred to the Royal Engineers owing to his mining experience.

He is twenty years of age, and worked as a miner in Kelty before the war. His brother John is with the Motor Transport, at present in France.
