The recent negotiations between the football governing bodies in England and Ireland had, it was thought, resulted in an understanding on the question of English club players assisting Irish clubs, permission being necessary before they could do so. The English F.A. however, has, it is stated, refused to allow Elisha Scott to assist Belfast Celtic, for who he has been keeping goal in the intermediate League, and the Celtic Club contend he is eligible to play. If the Liverpool Club, of which Scott is a member, cannot agree to his playing and Celtic persist in playing him, there may be unpleasant developments.
