“Vin” writes: – Pagnam, in the words of the popularsongstress Vesta Tilley, “joined the Army yesterday,” his first “halt” being Chester. Had Freddie become attached to the Flying Corps a notable addition to each of the three services could have been chronicled, for Sam Hardy, on the expiration of his “civil leave,” as ordained by the Chesterfield Tribunal, joined the Navy last week-end, and Dickie Downs, the Barnsley celebrity, the Army. Everybody will wish them luck in their new spheres.
