Wilfred Bartrop charged in Barnsley

Twenty-one Worksop miners, one of whom was Wilfred Bartrop, the ex-Barnsley footballer, were yesterday charged with playing pitch and toss in Garden Row, on Sunday week, afternoon. They were watched tossing pennies by Police-constable Oxley and Beardsley from an adjacent barn. Many of the defendants had previous convictions, and they were fined 15s., those with a clear account being fined 10s.
