So great was the interest taken in the lantern lecture given by Captain Alston in the Free Trade Hall, last evening, that many hundreds failed to secure admission. The subject was “A Pilot’s Experiences on the Western Front,” and Captain Alston said that youths of 18, 19, or 20 were suitable for the Royal Air Force.
Sportsmen were wanted, and footballers in particular made good airmen. The air machines which have proved a great attraction in Albert Square, and were provided in connection with the lecture, were removed to-day.
