Billy Matthews, the Welshman, who plays centre forward for Liverpool, has not had a fair run from the crowd, who are all haste to see international form from a youngster still in his teens. I am told that the players at Anfield say no one shoots harder than Matthews, and he has the faculty for looking as though he is not going to shoot, thus leaving the goalkeeper guessing – all of which I pointed out last season, when begging the crowd at Anfield to stay their judgment for a while.
