“Alexandra” (Cinema)
“Laddie,” a master film starring Miss Sydney Fairbrother, the famous character actress of the London stage, an appealing story of a mother’s love for her son, will be screened at the Alexandra next week. The son becomes famous in the medical world, and absorbed in his professional duties almost forgets his mother in the old cottage home. How he ultimately make up for this neglect is shown as the story unfolds. Episode 3 of “The Hope Diamond” serial is another item deserving of special mention.
For Thursday the much discussed Granger super-production, “The Honey-pot,” introducing Peggy Hyland, is supported by a short O’Henry story, entitled “The Church with the Overshot Wheel.”
Other items include Eve’s Film Review, Pathe comedy, and the training of Liverpool F.C.
