Sunderland people still have a warm place in their hearts for Cyril Gilhespy, the finely built outside right who refused maximum terms at the close of season 1920-21 from the Roker club, and then went to Liverpool. He turned out for the Anfielders a week ago, and had the honour of being the first extreme winger to score a goal for the champions this season.
