There is likely to be a sequel to the transfer by the Darlington club to Liverpool of Tom Scott, their inside right. It will be recalled that the Everton club were after both O’Donnell and Scott. The former was signed and it was expected Scott’s signature would also be secured. It came as a surprise, therefore, when Scott was secured by Liverpool last Saturday.
It should be pointed out that Everton have no complaint whatever to make against the Liverpool club. We understand (says the London “Daily Mail”) that the Darlington Club left the matter of the transfer in the hands of Scott himself, and that the player made his own choice in going to the Liverpool Club. Scott has been selected to play for Liverpool in the reserves against Derby County tomorrow. (Hull Daily Mail, 13-02-1925)
