Mr. Richard Lawson Martindale Snr., chairman of the Liverpool Football Club, died yesterday. He was 59 years of age, and had been a member of the Anfield Board for 16 years and chairman for the past two years.
Mr. Martindale, whose health had not been good for a long time, was a sound judge of the game, and his tact and unfailing good-humour made him popular with both players and officials. Mr. Martindale was a coal merchant, and resided in Mossley Hill.
