Devlin on a scoring spree

Last season William Devlin did not fit in the Huddersfield side. He was transferred very late on in the season and played on game for Liverpool at West Ham, where he got his first goal for his new club. He got another goal on Saturday last, and on Wednesday night he pleased 30,000 spectators at Anfield by scoring the first four goals of the game. Hodgson spoiled the sequence  by getting a goal, and Amos replied for Bury. (Hull Daily Mail, 01-09-1927)
