Matt McQueen leaves his post as Liverpool manager

Wednesday, February 15 – 1928
Surprise has been occasioned in football circles by the resignation of Mr. Matt McQueen, the manager of the Liverpool Football Club, following the advice of his doctor, who says he must not risk any undue excitement. Mr. McQueen was a player of the club, then referee, and later director and manager. He lost a leg four years ago, and his place will be hard to fill.
