Chelsea’s Hugh Gallacher suspended for two months


Tuesday, January 13 – 1931
The Football Association issued the following statement yesterday: –

Hugh Gallacher, Chelsea, centre-forward, has been suspended for two months from to-day for using filthy language to the referee in the match with Grimsby at Stamford Bridge on December 27th. Andy Wilson, Chelsea captain, was cautioned for ungentlemanly conduct.

Gallacher went to Chelsea last summer from the Newcastle United Club, the transfer fee being stated to be £10,000.
