I am told that the boy James Hagan, who turned out for Washington Colliery in the North Eastern League at he age of 14, and who has joined the Liverpool ground staff, will receive a wage of £2 10s. for a start. Nothing like getting them young, Mr. Patterson! Unquestionably, the Liverpool secretary has done a good stroke of business, for he pipped two other clubs, including Derby County by a short head.
