The goalkeepers’ of Southport

October 12, 1937
Has any Third Division club made as many goalkeeping changes as Southport?

This season they started with Arthur Davies, from Plymouth Argyle; last season the had George Talbot, the season before Ted Adams, now of Burnley, four seasons ago Bob Morrison, before that Arnold Swift, and in 1932-33 Matthew Middleton, who was transferred to Sunderland. But for many years previously they relied upon a local player, Billy Halsall.
