A month ago Eric Brook, Manchester City’s international outside left, underwent an operation for appendicitis. Yesterday he amazed Trainer Tom Chorlton and his fellow players by sprinting round the track at Maine-road in an athlete’s track suit and training jersey.
Such a quick return after a major operation is almost unprecedented in football. He anticipates that he will be fit to resume playing in about three weeks.
