Washington Colliery’s quest for a goalkeeper has ended in the signing of Cecil Ambler, a 20-year-old- player, who was signed by Newcastle United during the time of their practice matches at the beginning of the season. He has figured regularly in United’s ‘A’ team in the Northern Alliance this season.
