A young Fifer who has made a quick rise in the top is Jim Harley, reserve left back. Liverpool took him south from Hearts of Beath in season 1933-34. He earlier played for Rosslyn Juniors and juvenile clubs in East Fife Athletic and Leven Rangers. Harley is one of football’s speed kings having won the Powderhall sprint in 1936. He is of splendid physique, being six feet, and turning the scales at over 14 stone.
