New success for George Penrose

Monday, November 28 – 1938
George Penrose, who figured at outside right in Aberdeen’s reserve side against Queen of the South A and scored a good goal, has had a lot of experience for a lad of 19. Along with his Hall Russell’s clubmate, George Paterson, he was signed by Liverpool 18 months ago, but was released at the end of last season.
Penrose, who gained international honours as a schoolboy, may yet make his mark in senior football. Patterson, by the way is doing well on Merseyside and scoring freely for Liverpool’s reserve team.
