Men behind the scenes: Mr. Ike Robinson

January 26, 1939
The caption above is not quite an accurate description of Mr. Ike Robinson, honorary treasurer of the Liverpool County FA, for his good work behind the scenes has run contemporaneously with quite a fair share in the limelight.

Was presented, last night, with his long service medal, and no man more richly deserved the honour. An old player, Mr. Robinson served South Liverpool, Marlborough Old Boys, and others in the capacity before turning to the administrative side.

Was one of the founders of the Liverpool League, and its hon. Secretary for 17 years. Has been treasurer of the FA for ten years.

Did a fine bit of work in redrafting the various local cup competition rules to reach uniformity, and has brought modern ideas to the game generally. A great worker for football charities, a city councillor, and a sportsman through and through.
